Every time you open a new conversation with an AI assistant, it has no memory of you. It doesn't know what you asked last week, what conclusions you reached, what matters to your decisions, or who you are. You start again from zero, every time.
This is not a minor inconvenience. It is the central unsolved problem in practical human-AI interaction, and it's why most serious professionals eventually stop using AI tools for anything that requires continuity. Every conversation is like the first conversation.
We call this the 50 First Dates problem. If you've seen the film, you'll understand immediately. If you haven't: the central character wakes up every day with no memory of the day before. The people who love her build a system to bring her back, video diaries, notes, a world carefully reconstructed each morning so she can step into it without starting from scratch.

What Clarev actually does
Clarev is an AI personal assistant with the capacity to become a chief of staff. She is not a chatbot and not a search engine. She is someone with a defined character, a working memory of you, and a job: to help you think, to challenge you when that's useful, and to support your decisions once you've made them.
She starts each session fresh, the way any AI does. But she arrives briefed, on who you are, what you're working on, what matters to you, and where you left off. The memory lives in the system around her, carefully maintained and retrieved each time you open a session.

What she is not
Clarev will not flatter you. She is not designed to tell you what you want to hear; she is designed to tell you what will help. If you find even the slightest contradiction too jarring, perhaps she is not for you. Because, if your thinking has a gap, she'll say so. If a decision you've made looks different in the light of new information, she'll raise it.
She is not a replacement for your judgement. Every important decision remains yours. Her job is to make sure you are making it with the best possible information, the clearest possible thinking, and the information you actually need rather than what you happen to remember.
Who she is for
Clarev is built for people who have real decisions to make, real stakes in getting them right, and not enough hours in the day to do everything properly. She is for the senior professional who sometimes loses the thread between sessions, because there are so many threads. The entrepreneur who needs a thinking partner will find she shows up prepared, and the tired executive won't need to explain the background every single time.
She works best when the relationship has time to develop. The first session she knows what she's been told. After ten sessions, she gets to know how you think.
Current status
Clarev is currently in beta with selected users. The core functionality is live. Some features, including the full research integration with Theophrastus™ and the archetype personalisation tools, are still being built.
